The Medication Support and Recovery Service is a new addiction service which specialises in helping people who have problems with their use of prescription or over-the-counter medications.

The Medication Support and Recovery Service provides the following services for those affected by medication misuse or dependence:

A holistic approach to medication support and recovery

Our team can also make referrals and support people to access other treatment services. We work closely with doctors, Addiction Medicine Specialists, pain clinics and other health services to support the person’s overall health and well being.

The MSRS is an initiative of the Connect4Health consortium: Access Health and Community, Carrington Health and Link Health and Community, in partnership with Inspiro and healthAbility.

Fees and payments

All our services are provided at no cost to you. You don’t need a Medicare card or a doctor’s referral.

The Medication Support and Recovery Service is fully funded by the Eastern Melbourne Primary Health Network (EMPHN).

FAQs

The MSRS has sites in community health services across the East and North-East suburbs of Melbourne. This includes two sites at Access Health and Community (Doncaster East and Hawthorn), as well as clinics in Box Hill, Eltham, Lilydale, Glen Waverley and others.

Yes, absolutely. We work with people who have problems with prescription or over-the-counter medications, including those who also use alcohol or other drugs.

That’s OK, we work with you around your goals. Some people who see us want to come off medications completely, others might want to reduce how much they use, and others aren’t ready to change just yet.
