Become a volunteer Community Connector today.

We are growing our team of volunteers to support the Access to Community Program (A2C). 

Be part of our dynamic team of volunteers who work to empower, build confidence and support community connection and belonging.

As a Community Connector, you can:

introduce people to new social, physical or educational activities like book clubs or singing groups
help people find the activities they love – if you’re comfortable you can join them in their first session by walking or using public transport
build peoples’ confidence in creating social connections using your gentle and empathetic skills
have meaningful conversations with people, including meeting in public places and spaces.

FAQ

What is the volunteering time commitment required?

You may be needed for 4 hours a week at maximum with flexibility to change hours.

Community connectors will require a minimum of 6 months of involvement in the program. This may change depending on the level of support and interaction your client needs. 

Will I get training?

Yes, you will receive all necessary training.

Training will cover: 

information about the Access to Community program 
key responsibilities of volunteer Community Connectors 
how to communicate effectively with clients 
the resources to help connect clients with activities in their community 
how to create safe professional boundaries when working with and supporting clients.

Our A2C team will also provide you with ongoing support during your time as a volunteer.
